PERRA PUTA LOCA BRUJA: A Latina’s Reclamation Journey

3rd Floor Kress Venue (Tampa Rep space in Kress Contemporary 1624 E 7th Ave)

Perra Puta Loca Bruja An award-winning solo show blending comedy, ritual, and ancestral healing. Perra Puta Loca Bruja is a bold, genre-bending performance that weaves storytelling, humor, and ceremony into a deeply personal and collective journey of transformation. Created and performed by Vanessa Codorniu, this solo show dives into lineage, identity, and the inherited narratives that shape how we see ourselves—and how we silence ourselves. Through four charged archetypes—Perra, Puta, Loca, Bruja—Vanessa unearths the labels historically used to shame, control, and diminish women and reclaims them as portals of power, truth, and liberation. Drawing from her Argentine roots, ancestral memory, and lived experience as a healer and performer, she moves between characters, timelines, and emotional landscapes with both raw vulnerability and sharp comedic timing. What unfolds is part theatre, part ritual. Stories of family, migration, survival, and spirit weave together with moments of invocation, humor, and reckoning. Ancestors are remembered. Patterns are named. Silence is broken. This is not a passive experience. It is an invitation. An invitation to witness the transformation of inherited wounds into embodied voice. To recognize the archetypes within yourself. To feel what it means to reclaim what was once used against you. At once intimate and expansive, Perra Puta Loca Bruja challenges, heals, and awakens, leaving audiences with laughter, tears, and a deeper connection to their own story.
